Why Directories Still Have SEO Benefits

http://www.sitepronews.com

Web directories have been around since the beginning of the World Wide Web in the early 1990’s and are still recognized as an important channel for advertising businesses online. People often get web directories and search engines mixed up. The difference between a search engine like Google and web directories is that Google uses a web crawler to automatically index websites to show up in SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages), while a web directory organizes links under various categories and sub-categories.
How Can Submitting to Directories Help Your Website?
Here are some tips:
Get Indexed Quicker in the Search Engines
When search engines crawl directory websites any new entries within those directories also get crawled and indexed. Directories that are deemed authoritative by search engines like Google are crawled regularly, finding new website links to index which are then ranked to appear in the search results. If you are launching a new website, you should seriously consider submitting to website directories to speed up the process of getting indexed into Google.
Increase Your Positions in Google

Harvesting Tweets for Research and Profit – Is it Legal?

http://www.sitepronews.com

Harvesting tweets is on the rise.
Researchers and marketers alike are now capturing and downloading Tweets from Twitter’s database. Privacy activists argue privacy concerns. Researchers, marketers, and Twitter users all want to know – is Twitter harvesting legal?
How and Why
Every day, users of the Twitter social media publishing platform send out millions of Tweets — short electronic messages of 140 characters or less — to their readers and followers.
Most Twitter users are not aware that it’s relatively easy for anyone with a skilled programmer to harvest and download their Tweets. All a programmer has to do is to gain access to Twitter’s Application Programming Interface (API), and then to write code that requests data from Twitter’s servers through the API. The code contains search criteria, usually in the form of key words and phrases of interest.

What do I do If my Windows Registry is Damaged?

http://www.sitepronews.com

This question is asked by many people from all over. The registry is a complex storage system in all versions of Windows. Its easy to understand why so many people ask this. Educating yourself on how the registry works and how to properly maintain it is important to keep your PC functioning correctly.
The purpose of the registry is to store configuration settings for Windows operating systems. The operating system uses the registry to access vital information for software and hardware settings.
If the registry gets damaged or corrupt in can cause many frustrating symptoms. Also if the registry gets filled with too much information it can also cause these symptoms. The symptoms of a corrupt registry can vary depending on what is damaged in the registry. Slow startups, sluggish performance, annoying error messages, lockups and crashes are the most common. These can all get worse over time if not taken care of.
Your Windows registry can be damaged from installing and uninstalling software and hardware. Viruses and other malware can also cause damage to your systems registry. Regular use of your PC will eventually lead to registry issues as well.

Maintaining Your Top Rankings In Google

http://www.sitepronews.com

Top Rankings Maintenance For Google
Over the many years of marketing online, one point has been driven home to me time and again, you must not only get those top rankings in Google for your chosen keyword phrases – but you must maintain them. In other words, you must not only get those top rankings but you must keep them at the top.
Rankings maintenance, link maintenance… call it what you will, for most competitive keywords in Google, if you want to stay at the top you will have to constantly build quality links to your featured web page. Now, there are exceptions, if your domain contains exactly the keyword phrase then this ranking factor alone will probably keep you at the top of the pile.
However, in most cases, my own experiences have shown, if you don’t regularly add links pointing to your promoted web page it will fall off the first page in Google. For very lucrative keywords, this can prove very costly.
One of the easiest ways to build quality one-way links to your web pages is to write keyworded articles and submit them to the many free online article directories. This alone will usually keep your top rankings in Google – I have been doing this for over 7 or 8 years and have consistently kept my listings at the top of Google. If I don’t regularly write these articles, my rankings will fall off the first page in Google.

7 Different Levels of Web Hosting for Your Site

http://www.sitepronews.com

The different levels of web hosting are shared hosting, reseller hosting, cloud hosting, Virtual private server hosting, dedicated server, co-location, and self service.
As an online merchandiser, it is always vital to keep track of the growth of your online business. When your business meets higher demands, then your web hosting should be upgraded to accommodate all of it. Here’s a comparison of the different levels of web hosting you can use.
Shared hosting
With shared hosting, your site is set up on a server that is shared with other websites. This type of hosting is handy for those who are just starting or have a limited budget. Fees can be as low as $5-$-10 a month, because of the shared cost. One drawback, though, is that the cost also depends on the other shared websites. A site that has more traffic can affect your own performance.
Reseller hosting
Generally similar to shared hosting, reseller hosting has extra tools and options which assist you in reselling hosting space. Usually included in a reseller hosting package are free website templates, white label technical support, and servers under private names. This option is more costly than the shared hosting at $15-$50 per month, depending on the features.

The Internet is a Dangerous Place for your Data: Debunking the Myth

http://www.sitepronews.com

We’re always being warned about the many perils and dangers lurking in the deep dark recesses of the Internet. Those of us with children are constantly being urged to protect them from ‘Stranger Danger’ and Cyber bullying on chat rooms, instant messaging and social networks. According to the media, dating websites are full of predatory strangers waiting to murder us or empty our bank accounts. Scams, Identity Theft, Spam, Spyware, Adware, Malware, and Computer Viruses: the list of hazards goes on and on. It’s not just a web, but a veritable labyrinth full of pitfalls and hidden traps for the unwary.
So it stands to reason that a web-based, or SaaS system, for applications such as Document Management and Project Planning and Time Reporting, must be inherently unreliable, and the Cloud must be a bad place to store your data, right? Wrong! Entrusting your personal or business data to an outside company is a risky undertaking, isn’t it? Not necessarily!

The Impatience of Internet Marketing Newbies

http://www.sitepronews.com

If you attempted to take a test without studying, chances are, you’d fail. Yet, every single day on the Internet, thousands of newbies are performing the equivalent of the aforementioned test analogy, by putting up a website without having the slightest idea how to promote it. And guess what happens – they fail. No, they don’t all fail, but most do.
The point is starting a business – any business without having even basic marketing skills is putting the proverbial cart before the horse. It’s a bad move. Competency in marketing is one of the most important business skills that you can acquire. If you become proficient in the art of marketing, there is no limit to what you can accomplish in the business world.
Take the Time to Educate Yourself First
Look, there’s nothing wrong with being ambitious and enthusiastic. Those attributes can take you a long way in business. But you also need to be smart about how you approach things as well. Why be in such a hurry? Take some time to educate yourself first. Does it really matter if you build that website now, or a few months from now when you’re more prepared? Of course it doesn’t.

Facebook Traffic System – The Next Marketing Opportunity?

http://www.sitepronews.com

To be hyper effective at marketing in any business, you need to laser target your marketplace. It is very possible to get hyper amounts of targeted traffic to your business when you know where to look.
Traditional Means of Communication
Traditionally, marketing communications were conducted via print, broadcast and such traditional media through disruptive advertising, where advertisements appear in between the content of interest for the customer.
Traditional media does give a large reach to a marketer with its programming of mass appeal. However, the wastage is equally high, since a large portion of the audience would belong to a different segment than the one that is to be targeted by the marketer.
Enter Social Media and the Internet
The revolution stirred by the internet as a medium took place because of the fact that it is highly personalized and provides more content on-demand than any other available medium. Social sites proliferated far and wide in their usage for a few simple reasons:

Best Pay Per Click Search Engines- What Are the Pros and Cons?

http://www.sitepronews.com

There are many pay per click advertising search engines to choose from online. The traffic quality varies across all of them. Some generate more sales than others and give you a better return on your ad spend.
3 of the best pay per click search engines for traffic quality are: Google AdWords, Yahoo Sponsored Search and Microsoft’s adCenter.
According to ComScore.com these 3 have the following search market share in the United Sates (in March 2010):
Google Sites: 65.5%
Yahoo! Sites: 16.9%
Microsoft sites: 11.7%
Why is this important? Between just these 3 search engines they have an astonishing 94.1% of the search market share in the US. Ask have a 3.8% share and AOL have 2.5%.
This means the top 3 have the most traffic for you to tap into.
Which search engine should you use to run your Pay Per Click Advertising on and why? Here is a pro/con review of each…
GOOGLE ADWORDS
Pros:
Huge search volume. Because of this you can also dig deeper into your market and target niche markets.
Keyword research. They offer the best keyword research tool in my opinion and it is very simple and easy to work with. It gives you a ton of data on just about everything.

How To Get Traffic From Stumbleupon

http://www.sitepronews.com

You don’t want to continuously purchase traffic via StumbleUpon that should never be your ultimate goal.
Instead, you should utilize the advertising services there to jump-start your blog traffic with the goal being to encourage Stumblers to vote for you, which will in turn, push other visitors to your site, for free. Some bloggers fail to do this and end up paying for traffic longer than they would need to, if they just focused on creating a useful blog. Even though the advertising costs are lower than typical PPC campaigns, you can save a ton of cash if you make your blog worthy of a stumble. Set your blog in motion and watch the traffic continue to pour in, day after day!
Catch Them Before The Next Stumble
